Former Georgian president awarded Order of Republic

The presidential decree on awarding the Order of the Republic to former President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili was published in the Official Journal.

According to the presidential decree, the distinction is granted for 'defending democratic values, preserving and promoting citizen dignity, human rights, and peace, as well as for the fight for Georgia's European future.'

Salome Zurabishvili became in November 2018 the first female president in Georgia's history and held the position until 2024.
