Speaker in discussion with German Bundesrat President
Speaker Igor Grosu had a meeting with German Bundesrat President Anke Rehlinger, who is visiting the Republic of Moldova. The official reaffirmed Chișinău authorities' determination to advance in the European agenda, particularly in key areas such as justice, energy and cybersecurity, as well as strengthening democracy.
“Germany is a strong voice in supporting the European path of the Republic of Moldova, and the visit of the President of the German Bundesrat, Anke Rehlinger, is a new confirmation of this commitment,” emphasized Igor Grosu.
He expressed gratitude for the constant support offered by Germany to the Republic of Moldova, support which is concretely reflected in various development projects.
“An eloquent example is DoReMicii Kindergarten in Călărași – the first and only social infrastructure building in the Republic of Moldova certified as a ‘passive house’. Just today, I visited this institution where, with a German investment of about one million euros, approximately 500 children have benefited over the years from modern and environmentally friendly education conditions,” he noted.
The officials discussed the internal political situation and the efforts of Moldovan authorities to counter Kremlin propaganda and misinformation.
“We agreed to identify specific solutions, and the German Bundesrat has shown willingness to support us with expert knowledge. We continue to rely on a solid partnership with Germany in all areas of common interest – including supporting the community of Moldovans settled there,” Grosu said.
