Energocom purchased electricity in May at average price of 106 euros/MWh
In May, Energocom company purchased about 318,000 MWh of electricity, sourced both internally and from imports. The weighted average price was 106.60 euros/MWh.
According to Energocom, imports accounted for the majority of the procured volume — 72.71%, while electricity provided by domestic producers made up 27.29%.
A portion of the imported energy, 9.12% of the total consumption, was acquired from Romania at a preferential price, whereas another 37.63% was purchased based on bilateral contracts with external suppliers. An additional 25.96% was purchased from OPCOM and BRM exchanges.
Domestically, CETs in Chișinău and Bălți delivered 22,530 MWh, equivalent to 7.11%, and the energy produced from renewable sources reached a volume of about 63,900 MWh, or 20.18%.
The purchase price does not include expenses related to transportation, logistics, or delivery capacity reservation.
As of January 1, 2025, the right bank of the Dniester River no longer receives electricity from Cuciurgan Power Plant, after Gazprom ceased natural gas deliveries to the Republic of Moldova. Under these conditions, consumption is covered from internal sources and imports.
