Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today participated in the "Dor Călător" festival, held in Potsdam, Germany. The event brought together representatives of the Moldovan Diaspora around the country’s traditions, music and national values.
Speaker Igor Grosu emphasized that, wherever they may be, Moldovans succeed in promoting their culture and national values with dignity.
"At Dor Călător, the longing does not weigh down, but gathers. Today, in the city of Potsdam, alongside hundreds of Moldovans, I felt at home. And this year, the Baraboi family – Alexei and Daniela, in partnership with the Embassy of Moldova in Germany, the Diaspora Relations Bureau, and a handful of people joined together and made every effort to realize and gather so many nice people at the festival. What I saw today is living proof that we have talented people, wherever they are – at home or abroad – Moldovans know how to succeed. Moreover, they succeed in promoting our culture and values with dignity," said Igor Grosu.
The official urged the fellow citizens to continue preserving the country’s national traditions and values, which unites us from ancient times.
"Our grandparents and great-grandparents kept the traditions alive through pottery, folk costumes, music and dances. Today, it is our duty to carry this legacy forward. This is our strength – what unites us and makes us better with each other. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, dear Moldovans, you are the true ambassadors of Moldova!" added Igor Grosu.
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu pays a working visit to the German Bundestag. The speaker had a meeting with President of the German Bundestag Julia Klöckner.
The agenda of the visit also includes discussions with President of the German-Moldovan Forum Johannes Schraps and with the Diaspora of Moldova in Germany.
