Prime Minister: This year, we invest 3.2 billion lei for rehabilitation, reconstruction and maintenance of roads and bridges
Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced today that the Republic of Moldova will invest a record amount of 3.2 billion lei this year for the rehabilitation, reconstruction and maintenance of roads and bridges. It is the largest budget allocation for road infrastructure in the country's history, he emphasized.
According to the Prime Minister, the Government has made significant progress in recent years regarding the modernization of the road network. A total of 766 kilometers of roads have been rehabilitated, three times more than in the last decade.
Among the most important completed projects are: R26 Bender-Căușeni-Cimișlia road, the bypass road of Troița Nouă village, Porumbrei-Cimișlia sector (part of the strategic route connecting Chișinău to Giurgiulești), and the bridge at Pelinia.
“These achievements reflect our commitment to building a safe, modern, and efficient road infrastructure that contributes to economic development and citizen mobility,” said Dorin Recean.
The Republic of Moldova has a total of about 10,544 km of public roads, of which 3,677 km are national roads and 6,867 km are local roads.
